The holiday's are here and you know what that means... engagement season is too! If you are recently engaged (or think you might be soon ;) ), below is a sneak peak of my engagement wardrobe tips (all tips are available to my wedding clients in my Welcome Guide).
Tip 1: Coordinating is key- Matching… not so much. Be creative with it! You’ve already put the time and effort into searching for the right photographer for your style and needs so now it's time to have a little fun!
Tip 2: Be comfortable- You will be asked to do quite a number of poses, and it’s really unpredictable what ideas will suddenly come to me during the shoot! So dress comfortably, and dress for the weather.
Tip 3: Dress for the season- Your chosen outdoor setting will look perfect if you dress for the season! Sweaters and scarves look awesome among the fallen fall leaves, and flowy dresses and linen look beautiful with spring flowers.
Tip 4: Dress for the surroundings- Be careful about blending into the background! If the leaves are still green don’t wear a lot of green for your session, try other fun colors!
Tip 5: Choose the right material- Alongside dressing for the season and surroundings, you should choose proper fabrics too. It might be a good idea to go with wrinkle-free material like jersey, chambray, or wool.
Tip 6: Variety is good- Go all out with the outfit choices. If you’re really on the fence about what to wear just bring a few paired outfits and change during the shoot!
Tip 7: Ladies this one is for you. Choose outfits that flatter your body type- These photos are for you and the person you love. Wear your most flattering clothes and you will look like a million bucks, no doubt about that. Wear clothes that fit well. Clothes that are too big can look baggy in photos.
Tip 8: Channel your wedding day look- If you had a theme in mind for your wedding, it might be a good idea to incorporate that into your engagement photos. It brings an overall finish to your final photo album, after all!
