my favorite locations
Woohoo! It's time to pick the location for you session! Some locations require permits or advanced notice so I like to have them picked out a few weeks in advance. These are some of my favorites so you can pick from one of these or we can head to a favorite of yours!
LOCATIONS THAT REQUIRE A PERMIT
Holliday Park offers a gorgeous park setting and old ruins. This location makes the perfect backdrop if you are looking for a woodsy setting with a touch of architecture. It's great for families, and engagement sessions. Plus, it's kid and dog friendly!
Newfields is located just north of Downtown Indianapolis. With its beautiful gardens and architecture it makes the perfect backdrop for your engagement, maternity, or family session.
Newfields sessions are done on Thursdays -Saturdays during the months of March - September and have to be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.
EAGLE CREEK STATE PARK
Eagle Creek State Park is amazing. There is so much variety to offer at this location from fields, trails, to the waters edge. I love this location for families, engagement sessions, and maternity.
URBAN, CITY, AND ARCHITECTURE LOCATIONS
THE INDIANAPOLIS CANAL
The Indianapolis Canal is always such a fun location with so much variety. It's perfect for both those city backgrounds and woodsy images.
Lockerbie Square is located in Downtown Indy not far from Mass Ave. I absolutely love the cobblestone streets and the old historic houses. It's the perfect mix of woodsy and urban. I recommend this location for engagements, maternity, and family sessions.
Downtown has all kinds of locations wrapped up into one and is perfect for that urban, city backdrop. Besides the canal, there is the War Memorial, Monument Circle, and The State House. I recommend these locations for engagements.
Downtown Zionsville is so cute! I just love the charm and the small town feel. There are so many hidden gems just on one street and its easily one of my favorite locations for an urban type of session.
CARMEL CITY CENTER
The city center has multiple great urban locations including The Cake Bake Shop and The Palladium. There's tons of pretty architecture and flowers. This location is great for engagements, maternity, and families.
THE AMBASSADOR HOUSE
The Ambassador House is a charming little wedding venue with gardens, and beautiful architecture. The location does NOT require a permit or fee but does require us to get permission to use it. So it must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.
PARKS AND GARDEN LOCATIONS
FORT HARRISON STATE PARK
Fort Harrison State Park is located on Indy's east side and it's one of my favorites! The light is so pretty and there are so many lush greens in the spring and summer. Plus, it's kid and dog friendly so it works for any kind of session.
Westside Park is located in Greenwood Indiana and is one of my fall favorites. The leaves always turn bright shades of red and orange along the wood fence line. This is a great location for family sessions but also works for maternity and engagement.
FLAT FORK CREEK PARK
Flat Fork Creek Park is located in Fishers and is perfect if your looking for that golden hour glow. In the summer you can find tons pretty wildflowers and a high trail bridge. It makes the perfect backdrop for your engagement, maternity, or family session.
THE VIRGINA B. FAIRBANKS ART & NATURE PARK: 100 ACRES
The 100 acres park at Newfields is my favorite hidden gem. It's right next to Newfields but doesn't require a permit. It's a great woodsy location and has a beautiful lake. It's dog and kid friendly and even has a park for kids to play on after your session.
Holcomb Gardens is nestled on Butlers Campus. It is a great location with tons of variety. It's especially gorgeous in the fall. We'll plan an early start time for this location as it does tend to lose its light quickly because of its low lying location. It's a favorite for engagement photos as it's dog friendly!
Coxhall Gardens in Carmel is a beautiful location if your looking for nature, architecture, and dreamy golden light. Their amphitheater also gives off a gorgeous golden hour glow. It's my favorite Carmel location.
